Ames Cartagenas Dining Chair

Manufacturer Ames
Designer Sebastian Herkner

Ames introduces Cartagenas, a new seating collection, launching with a lounge chair and a dining chair. Their colors and shapes are inspired by Sebastian Herkner’s observations when he visited the buzzing coastal city Cartagena de Indias.
“Fishing pelicans, women selling fruit, cozy restaurants, little boutiques, a Botero sculpture: Cartagena lures you in with its many facets. It has a local and an international side. There are so many small alleyways and wild nightlife. This collection also plays with facets. The chairs have a straight-lined outer frame while their center is softer. Whichever version you choose, monochrome or colorful, they’ll be a favorite spot to relax”, describes Sebastian the collection.
The two elegant, curved chairs can be used indoors and outdoors. Their strings, which are made from recycled PVC, are woven by hand around the steel frame in Colombian ateliers. Both chairs come either with contrasting colors for seat and back or a monochrome version. They are available in five standard color combinations: black/black, coral/caramel brown, purple/pastel blue, purple/olive und lilac/honey.
