OVERVIEW
Stillfried Design partners with independent European manufacturers whose production methods emphasize craftsmanship, durability, and responsible sourcing. As a result, many of our pieces are produced in small batches or made to order. Lead times may vary by manufacturer, product category, material, and finish. The following policy outlines how orders are processed and shipped.
ORDER PROCESSING
Orders for in-stock items are typically processed within 2–5 business days. You will receive an order confirmation at the time of purchase and a shipping notification once your item has left our warehouse or the manufacturer’s facility.
For made-to-order, custom, or special-order items, production begins only after the order is confirmed. Lead times are provided as estimates and may vary based on manufacturer schedules, material availability, holiday closures in Europe, or freight capacity.
MADE-TO-ORDER & SPECIAL PRODUCTION LEAD TIMES
Because many of our brands work with artisanal workshops and small production teams, made-to-order lead times can range from 8–20 weeks, depending on the manufacturer and complexity of the piece. Some items may require longer production times during peak seasons.
Lead times communicated at the time of purchase are estimates. While we do our best to ensure accuracy, Stillfried Design cannot guarantee exact completion dates, as these depend on external production factors within each manufacturer’s workflow.
SHIPPING METHODS
We use trusted carriers for parcel and freight shipments. Depending on the item’s size and weight, your order may ship via:
– Standard parcel courier (UPS, FedEx, DHL)
– White-glove delivery service
– Freight carrier with curbside or threshold delivery
– Direct shipment from the manufacturer’s European facility
Shipping method is determined automatically based on the item purchased.
WHITE-GLOVE DELIVERY
For furniture and larger pieces, we recommend white-glove delivery, which includes in-home placement and removal of packing materials. Additional fees may apply depending on location, stairs, or special handling requirements. White-glove delivery availability varies by region.
INTERNATIONAL SHIPMENTS & IMPORTS
Some products ship directly from Europe. In these cases, orders transit through U.S. customs and may require additional processing time. All duties, tariffs, and customs clearances are managed through our logistics partners. Estimated delivery dates account for typical customs timelines but may vary based on port conditions and government inspection schedules.
DELIVERY WINDOWS
Once an item has shipped, delivery time typically ranges from:
– 3–7 business days for in-stock parcel shipments
– 1–3 weeks for domestic freight shipments
– 6–12 weeks for overseas freight moving from Europe to the U.S.
These timeframes are estimates and may vary based on location and carrier availability.
SHIPPING COSTS
Shipping rates are calculated at checkout based on item size, weight, and delivery destination. Additional charges may apply for remote areas, white-glove service, oversized items, or complex delivery conditions.
DELIVERY INSPECTION
Upon delivery, please inspect your item carefully. Note any visible damage to packaging or the item itself on the delivery receipt and notify us within 48 hours. Photos are strongly recommended for documentation.
ORDERS WITH MULTIPLE ITEMS
Because our products come from different European studios, items within the same order may ship separately and arrive on different dates.
ORDER CANCELLATIONS
In-stock orders may be canceled prior to shipment.
Made-to-order, custom, or special-order items cannot be canceled once production has begun.
