The new Subas rug combines the arts of knotting and weaving in one surface. the master craftswoman who directs the team of the small workshop in the Suba district of Bogotá comes from a family in the province of Boyaca. This family has been using sheep’s wool for generations and combines various techniques on one handloom. The shades of the natural wool colors also inspire the creation of rich patterns. Sebastian Herkner created the five subas designs on the basis of these weaving and knotting techniques. He combines geometric shapes, relief effects, chequers, stripes and monochrome areas. Subas is available in three sizes and four variations karo, linea 2, moton and oruga.
