Prater Chair

The design of this chair is inspired by traditional Viennese wooden chairs as found in the coffee houses and wine bars of the Austrian capital or in the Prater.
Made from birch plywood pressed together with dark phenolic resin, the soft curve in the chair’s seat and backrest are manufactured using CNC milling. With this kind of milling, several layers of wood are penetrated, thus allowing the glue to be visible between the different layers. This technique gives the chair its unique finish and look. Each chair is a one-off design.
