The popular Caribe chairs and tables by Sebastian Herkner are now available with natural wicker webbing. Thanks to the new material in subtle beige, the furniture pieces blend in gently with the interior. The ames craftspeople also use a different weaving technique resulting in an especially dense cover for the steel frame.
“The biggest creative opportunity with the Caribe series is the option to play with different weaving techniques”, explains Sebastian Herkner. “It’s a chance to test different materials, an approach we’ve already applied to the Circo chairs, which are produced with leather or plastic strings. For Caribe, we’ve now chosen natural wicker that has a long tradition in Colombian craftsmanship to create a chair that’s clearly made for indoor spaces. The wicker lends the design a natural look and makes it very comfortable to sit in.”
The frame is available in the standard colors copper brown, black, and sand beige.
