ONE FOR HUNDRED x STILLFRIED WIEN

Posted by Stillfried Wien on

Austrian furniture label One For Hundred produces solid wood furniture and plants 100 trees for every item sold. Their designs are fresh interpretations of timeless typologies. The One For Hundred collection is highly customizable, from dimension to wood finish and color. The wood used comes from their own forest in the north of Vienna - "from tree to table" - the entire process remains in their hands.
Behind One For Hundred are industrial designer Anna and Karl Philipp Prinzhorn, who manages the forest in the seventh generation. Together they decided to develop a furniture company that builds up the resources it uses.

MAX BILL x WB FORM

Max Bill was born in 1908 in Winterthur, Switzerland. After graduating from the Zurich School of Applied Arts, in 1928, he started his studies at the Bauhaus in Dessau, where, among others, Paul Klee and Wassily Kandinsky were his teachers.
The Kreuzzargenstuhl chair was designed in 1952 and shows Bill’s skills as a product designer. The cross-frame leg construction, invented by Bill, supports the seat in the center and gives the chair the greatest possible structural stability. In terms of form, the contrast between the slim seat and the sturdy frame accentuates the chair’s technical construction, giving it a powerful and sculptural expression.
