Founded in Vienna in 1823 and still run by the founding family, Lobmeyr is one of the world’s most respected makers of crystal lighting. In 1883 the firm built one of the first electric chandeliers, working with Thomas Edison’s company. Its pieces hang in the Vienna State Opera, and its starburst chandeliers have become the signature of New York’s Metropolitan Opera. Every piece is made by hand in Austria. The collection ranges from historic designs by Josef Hoffmann and Adolf Loos to new work by contemporary designers.
